Buyer’s Guide
Colour is the most important value factor. Aquamarine ranges from pale blue to deeper, slightly greenish blue. The most desirable stones display a richer blue with even saturation and no visible zoning.Because aquamarine is often very clean, clarity should be high; visible inclusions lower value.
AQUAMARINE
Durability
With a hardness of 7.5–8, aquamarine is strong enough for daily wear and suitable for rings and long-term pieces. It resists scratching well but should still be protected from sharp impacts.
Heat treatment is stable, and the stone generally performs well in most jewellery settings.
